Office Manager
Case Coordinator

Elaine is likely the first person you’ll meet at our facility – either as the friendly, caring voice on the other end of the phone or the bright smile greeting you in the lobby!  Since joining the TRC family in 2011, Elaine is the glue that keeps our staff together.  Rocking several hats – Office Manager, Case Coordinator, and Counselor – Elaine is dedicated to making sure our patients have a seamless customer service experience.

Anyone going through a DWI process or struggling with substance use knows the barriers inherent to reassembling the pieces of our lives and being met with barriers and frustrations around every corner.  Elaine is flexible, accommodating, and helps clients with the resources and accountability they need to continue making progress.

Became fully Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in 2018, Elaine is a natural healer who has found a calling in Substance Abuse Treatment.  She uses her superpowers of empathy, strength building, and solid work ethic to be a force for change in the lives of TRC clients as well as Family, Friends, and the Asheville community at large.

Elaine graduated in 1998 with a B.A. in English Writing & Journalism from The University of Pittsburgh.  She enjoys sewing, is an  avid reader & animal lover.  Elaine values balance, purpose, peace.  While not at work, she might easily be found frequenting Asheville food spots or curling up with a good book and a cat (or two)!

Bruce Ullerup, LCSW, LCAS, CCS

Owner and Therapist

Bruce has been focused on running The Relationship Center since 1998. Bruce has decided to shift to more people focused care and has decided to refocus his therapeutic skills in a more individualized manner by seeing people for one on one, couples or family therapy sessions.

Bruce is an active participant and supporter of AA and has been living clean and sober for over 30 years.   Bruce is an avid movie goer, reader, grandfather & dog-dad.  Food and fun is a central philosophy for Bruce - one of the many ways that he regularly celebrates life!

If Bruce isn't at The Relationship Center hard at work drumming up business, he's meeting client's individually or out and about  since Bruce is a serious foodie and is well known at many restaurants around Asheville for having a humorous comment or sharing a joke. If you are seeking a therapist for counseling, please call Bruce at 828-777-3755 or the main office at 828-225-5555.
